The Typical F Mull (Figures 12 and 13) is characterised by an Of horizon which is always divided into two parts. Below the Ol horizon, an Olf horizon which is poor in fine humus is formed, followed by a distinct Of horizon enriched in fine humus (Ohf) with a stratified, glued litter packaging. The A horizon is mostly <10 cm thick. The distinct features of a Typical F Mull are:
- Ol horizon is present all year round;
- Olf horizon and Ohf horizon are continuous and present all year round;
- the thickness of Olf ≥ Ohf horizon and
- Ax, Au, or Ah horizon is present.
